Periodontal Maintenance Therapy
Effective Maintenance Therapy Plan
If you have undergone active treatment of periodontitis, then an effective maintenance therapy plan is imperative for the long-term stability of results and to minimise recurrence. Maintenance therapy is implemented following periodontal treatment to preserve the dentition for life.
After your active periodontal treatment, our specialists will compose a personalised maintenance program to keep your gums healthy and prevent the return of periodontal disease. This plan will include frequent supportive periodontal care visits with your Periodontist. The frequency of visits will depend on your case’s severity and susceptibility to developing the disease again. Your supportive periodontal care visits may include:
Examination of your gingiva
Measurement of the depth of periodontal pockets
Review your oral hygiene routine
Biofilm and Calculus removal
Examination of your teeth and supporting bone structures for decay and other dental problems
Maintenance therapy is a vital phase of your periodontal treatment. Our team will work with you to create a plan that best suits your circumstances and individualised needs.
